15 Black Women Traveling to All 50 States and Redefining Travel

There’s something powerful about the way Black women move through this country, especially those taking on the journey of visiting all 50 states. Being a Black woman traveling to all 50 states, I feel that power within me.

We are part of a small but mighty group. Considering less than 2% of Americans, regardless of race, have traveled to all 50 states, we already know, statistically speaking, that we make up a much smaller group.

Despite these numbers, we are not just traveling. We are reclaiming space. We are changing the narrative. We are showing up in places we were never centered in, never expected in, and sometimes never even considered. And as we move, we leave something behind: our stories, our presence, our Black girl magic.

This is a celebration of Black women traveling to all 50 states, each journey a reminder that every destination is, and has always been, part of our story. Across cities, small towns, and everything in between, these Black women are visiting all 50 states in the U.S., redefining what travel looks like through culture, community, and connection.

Whether they are moving solo, building community on the road, or documenting their experiences online, each woman featured here is showing that exploring all 50 states is more than a goal. It is a powerful act of presence, freedom, and visibility.
