A Black Woman’s Guide to Visit All 50 States: My Journey

If you’ve ever thought about the goal to visit all 50 states, you’re in the right place! This is more than a bucket list for me. It’s a personal commitment to experience the fullness of this country through its cities, small towns, food, culture, and the histories we were not always taught. It is part of a larger goal I set for myself to visit all 50 states and 50 countries by age 50.

Exploring “America’s Finest City:” A Guide to San Diego, CA

I had no idea that I would fall in love with San Diego when I registered to attend a conference hosted by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. I had only been to San Diego once before for a day, so clearly that did not count! However, my friends who have gone to San Diego raved about it, and they were not wrong. During my long weekend here, I managed to maximize my evenings and free time by exploring a variety of things. My conclusion: San Diego truly has it all

Let’s Taco About It: Best Food Spots in San Diego

Although San Diego is a great food city, they are especially known for their seafood and tacos (and in many cases, the two are blended together). San Diego is also unique in that many places are super casual

How to Spend a Day on Bainbridge Island

One of the best aspects of Seattle is its access to neighboring islands by ferry, one being Bainbridge Island. With just a 35 minute ride, you will be carried away to a very quaint island. The ride itself cost me under $10, roundtrip.

Making the Most of Seattle’s Food Scene

Coming from New York, I find it hard to find places with comparable food scenes in terms of quality and variety. Seattle is surely one of those places! I was first introduced to Seattle’s food scene through a food tour I found on Viator.com called "Food and Cultural Walking Tour of Pike Place Market", conducted by Savor Seattle. Through this tour, I discovered food can serve as a way deeply explores a city. Based on my Seattle food experience, here are the food spots I would recommend

Maximizing Three Days in the Seattle Area

I’ve always been intrigued to go to Seattle, Washington. Having had a few people ask me why, I had to really think about it. Seeing Pikes Public Market and the Space Needle in pictures always caught my eye. Also, being the lover of Starbucks that I am, I wanted to see the first one. I also think that it being a central location in the West Coast (a place that I have not ventured to often) was one of the reasons that inspired me to visit. Oddly enough, my original plan was to do a National Parks tour during Thanksgiving Break. However, that tour was cancelled after I booked my airplane ticket.

Top 10 Food Thangs: Colorado Springs Edition

As you know, food can make or break an experience. What originally was intended to be a time for exploration became sort of a food excursion in Colorado Springs. When it came to trying foods, I probably looked like this dog I ran into while at Seven Falls!

Top 4 Nature Thangs of Colorado Springs

Mountains, mountains everywhere! That is Colorado in a nutshell. Whether you are at the airport or driving around town, you will see mountains. In Colora do Springs, mountains surround the city. They are very much in your face, but in a good way! One feels like they are in touch with nature. Pure joy.

Top 5 Things to Do in the Mile High City (Denver, Colorado)

Denver is specifically known as the Mile High City because (guess what?) it is literally a mile high (5,280 ft) above sea level.
